Golden Hour Portraits at Coney Island Beach with Model Jess Hampton
There’s something magical about shooting during golden hour, and when you combine that with the iconic backdrop of Coney Island Beach, the results are nothing short of stunning. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with model Jess Hampton from ChoosnModel Management for a breathtaking photoshoot, where the light, setting, and team came together to create something truly special.
We began our session as the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting that perfect, warm glow that photographers dream about. The soft, diffused light of golden hour added a natural radiance to Jess’s complexion, which was beautifully enhanced by the skilled hands of makeup artist Erica. Her artistry accentuated Jess's features, making her look effortlessly elegant against the serene beach setting.
Coney Island Beach provided the perfect mix of textures and tones. The sandy shores, the endless horizon, and the soft waves created a dynamic backdrop that added depth and dimension to every shot. Jess was a natural in front of the camera, moving gracefully and confidently as the sun kissed the horizon.
As the day drew to a close, we decided to capture a few last moments on a Polaroid. There’s something so nostalgic and timeless about Polaroid photography, and it was the perfect way to wrap up the day. The Polaroid images captured the essence of the shoot—the warmth of the golden hour, the beauty of the beach, and the striking presence of Jess.
This shoot was a reminder of why I love being a fashion photographer in New York. The city offers an endless array of stunning locations, and when paired with a talented team and a beautiful model, the possibilities are limitless.
